                                        55th NATCON of ASI Anatomy Conference

 

 

The Department of Anatomy is actively involved in teaching undergraduate students of  First M.B.B.S., First year Occupation Therapy, First year Physiotherapy, Nursing students & post graduate M.S. Anatomy students. To enhance  the cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains, Seminars on carefully selected topics are conducted. This also helps in the comprehensive understanding of the subject. Competitive exams are also conducted by the department for the students for encouragement of excellence. 

Besides teaching, the department also holds workshops in Embalming Techniques for Anatomists, as also for Embalmers and Undertakers. Delegates from all over India attend such workshops and it imparts training in body preservation techniques.

 Anatomy Department is playing an active role in providing a platform to Surgeons in enhancing their operating skills and in turn serving the community better. It also arranges for CME Programs for clinicians, especially Gynecologists, ENT Surgeons, Orthopedic surgeons,  Neuro surgeons and General surgeons who wish to update their knowledge of anatomy through hands-on dissections and prosections. Cadaveric dissection has assumed renewed importance due to the emergence of new technologies like laparoscopy, joint replacement, stereotaxic surgery, to name a few. The Department of Anatomy at LTMMC has adopted roles way beyond the teaching of undergraduates.

 The department accepts body donations also.The Department is holding the 55th NATCON  of ASI ,  Pre - Conference Continuing Medical Education Programme on embalming techniques and a post conference workshop on “ How to set a Genetic Lab”. This conference will also include Guest Lectures by eminent Clinicians and Scientific deliberations from the delegates. These sessions apart from being highly interactive will also discuss recent research activities.  This will in turn benefit the postgraduate students attending the conference.
